When your mum (or wife) uses your middle name
I was reading a commentary on the Gospel of Mark this morning (as one does when preparing for an exam including exegeses of Mark) and came across some interesting points on Jesus' interactions with demons. The concept that naming something accurately allows control over it is mentioned. This seems to be common thinking at the time.
I wonder if the thruth of this is reflected in the way that mothers use our full names when they want to get our attention. Does this count as Applied Theology?
